The brand that made smart aircon mainstream.

Sensibo is an Israeli company that pioneered the smart aircon controller category. They were one of the first to make a consumer device that could turn any IR-controlled aircon into a smart aircon, and they’ve built one of the best apps in the smart home space. Their products are sold in over 100 countries.

What Sensibo does well

  • App experience. The Sensibo app is the best in the category — polished, intuitive, and genuinely enjoyable to use. Setup takes under two minutes, and day-to-day operation is smooth.
  • Climate React. Sensibo’s automation feature lets you set rules like “turn off if temperature drops below 23°C” or “turn on if humidity rises above 70%.” It’s well-designed and easy to configure.
  • Tiered product range. Sensibo offers three tiers — Sky (budget), Air (mid-range), and Air Pro (premium with air quality) — so you can pick the level that fits your needs and budget.

Where Sensibo falls short

  • Shallow ecosystem. Sensibo’s only accessory is the Room Sensor. Compare that to Aqara’s 50+ device ecosystem, and the limitation is clear. If you want occupancy-based or multi-sensor automations, Sensibo can’t do it.
  • 2.4GHz WiFi only. All Sensibo devices are limited to 2.4GHz WiFi, which can be frustrating to set up with modern combined-band routers.
  • No IR feedback detection. Sensibo controllers can’t detect when someone uses the physical remote, so the app can fall out of sync with the actual aircon state.
